US Lumber Production Increases in March, Up Slightly in 1Q 2017: WWPA


US lumber production increased 10.7 per cent in March compared to the month prior but declined 0.5 per cent from March 2016, according to statistics from the Western Wood Products Association’s Lumber Track. Production totaled 2.941 billion board feet (BBF) in March.
Production in the West jumped 14.9 per cent over February, while output in the South increased 7.4 per cent.

For the first quarter, US production totaled 8.251 BBF, edging 1.2 per cent higher than the same period in 2016. Production increased 3.8 per cent in the South and dropped 2 per cent in the West.
