Fire destroyed a sawmill in Marysville, ID, on Thursday night. The fire was burning in stacks of firewood and timber at Fisher Logging near Ashton. Firefighters were able to protect other buildings. Weyerhaeuser is investing US$57 million over a three-year period to install two continuous direct fired kilns and a new planer mill at its softwood lumber mill in Philadelphia, MI, the company announced Wednesday. The mill produces approximately 220 million board feet of Southern Yellow Pine two-inch dimension lumber, 2×4 through 2×12.
