Lumber production by Canada’s sawmills increased 21 per cent from December, to 5,021.9 thousand cubic metres in January, said Statistics Canada Friday. Compared with January 2013, lumber production increased 2.3 per cent. Sawmills shipped 4,459.6 thousand cubic metres of lumber in January, an increase of 14 per cent from December.
