The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported August 11 US and Canadian rail traffic volumes for July and for the week ending August 7, 2021.
US railroads originated 1,970,839 combined carloads and intermodal units for the month of July 2021, up another +3.8%, or 71,419 combined, from one year ago.
US railroads originated 509,607 carloads and intermodal units for the week ending August 7, 2021, up +2.4% from the same week last year.
Total combined US rail traffic for the first 31 weeks of 2021 was 15,815,038 carloads and intermodal units, an increase of +9% compared to the same time last year.
