Much-welcomed stability in pricing arrived for the week ending March 18, 2022, when the price of benchmark softwood lumber item Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 2×4 #2&Btr KD (RL) remained flat compared to the previous week at US$1,400 mfbm, said weekly forest products industry price guide newsletter Madison’s Lumber Reporter.

That week’s price is up by +$118, or +9% from one month ago when it was $1,283.

When compared to the same week last year, when it was $1,040, for the week ending March 18, 2022 the price of Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 2×4 is up by +$360, or +35%.
