U.S. housing starts jumped in February by more than expected. Housing starts, a measure of U.S. home building, rose +10.7% to a seasonally adjusted rate of 1.52 million.
Starts were +5.9% higher than the same month last year.
Residential permits, which can hint at future home construction, also rose +1.9% on month to 1.52 million.
Single-family housing starts surged +11.6% in February
